Simulation Studies and Modelling Requirements
Simulation studies are crucial for design and operation of the power system.
Importance of Simulation Models
Simulation models are important for assessing the impacts of the installations on the network.
Customers are required to:
- Develop accurate models of their facilities
- Conduct simulation studies using the models
- Submit their self-assessment studies to EirGrid

Requirements for Power Quality Studies
The EirGrid Policy on Harmonics - Issue No. 2, Revision No. 1, December 2013 given at the end of this document has been updated with this new policy:

WECC Study Submission Requirements

EMT Model Specifications
All users of the transmission system are required to provide electromagnetic transient (EMT) models of their plant.
The documents below provide clear and consistent guidance with regards to the level of detail, model type, model accuracy, performance, usability and interoperability for EMT models.
Users are required to provide EMT models and documentation in accordance with these specifications. In addition, users are required to complete and return the model checklist included in the appendix.
