Kilbarry Marina works help futureproof Cork's grid

Works on the Kilbarry Marina 110 kV overhead line

Major works have been completed on the Kilbarry Marina 110 kV overhead line double circuit, a significant piece of high voltage infrastructure providing bulk power to Cork city and surrounding regions.

This line has undergone a number of refurbishment measures, including the replacement of steel, platforms, access ladders and hardware; painting of the towers; and works on the foundations to extend the lifespan of the double circuit.

This refurbishment will contribute to futureproofing the grid in the area, delivering a continued reliable supply of electricity to communities in Cork.

EirGrid would like to thank stakeholders, including ESB Networks, for their collaboration on this project.
