EirGrid named one of Ireland’s great places to work for 2026
EirGrid, the operator and developer of Ireland’s electricity grid is proud to announce that it has been accredited the Great Place to Work Certification, an accolade recognising organisations that create outstanding employee experience.
EirGrid is now recognised as one of Ireland’s great places to work for 2026, after a thorough and independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work Ireland.
The accreditation process is based on direct feedback from employees, provided as part of an extensive and anonymous survey about the workplace experience, and an external audit of culture frameworks.
As grid operator, EirGrid balances supply and demand every minute of the day, while also planning for Ireland’s long-term electricity needs. In addition to this, it is making Ireland renewable-ready, and its people are at the heart of this work.
EirGrid CEO Cathal Marley described what the certification means for the organisation: “Building a great culture is a key enabler to help us achieve our strategic objectives, as we progress the most ambitious programme of work ever taken on the electricity grid in Ireland.
“Together we are growing, as we transform our organisation and Ireland’s energy system. We are committed to continuing to invest in our people and to foster a great workplace culture.”
Speaking about the accolade, Sarah Downing, Chief People & Capability Officer at EirGrid, said: "We are proud and delighted to be Certified as a Great Place to Work. At EirGrid, our mission is to transform Ireland’s energy system for a decarbonised future. Every person in EirGrid plays an important role in this journey.
"We want EirGrid to be a place where we grow as we innovate, where collaboration drives national impact, and where everyone has the opportunity to build a long-term career.
"This certification is recognition of the impressive teamwork, expertise, energy and commitment of our amazing people. We are delighted to accept and celebrate this achievement together.”
