Corduff reinforcement works mark system upgrade in Dublin

The Corduff plant

The final major element of the Corduff 220 kV Station Deep Reinforcement Project was recently completed in collaboration with ESB Networks, marking a significant upgrade to the electricity system in North Dublin.

The project included the installation of a new 250 megavolt ampere (MVA) transformer, one new 110 kilovolt (kV) sectionaliser and a new 220 kV sectionaliser.

These works have also facilitated the connection of new flexible generation, which is now fully operational at the site.

All of these upgrades were undertaken while delivering a reliable supply of energy to communities in the area, and will contribute to further strengthen the electricity system in North Dublin and surrounding areas.
